Tender fire at Port Hercule brought under control

A 12-metre yacht tender caught fire on Friday morning at the Quai Rainier-Ier Grand Amiral de France end of Port Hercule, with Monaco's fire brigade swiftly containing the blaze.
A 12-metre tender attached to a yacht moored at Port Hercule caught fire on the morning of Friday 7 August, at the far end of Quai Rainier-Ier Grand Amiral de France. The Principality's sapeurs-pompiers were mobilised rapidly and brought the fire under control before it could spread further along the quayside.
Port Hercule is at its most congested during the summer season, with tenders, RIBs and support craft clustered throughout the harbour alongside visiting superyachts. The swift response limited damage and prevented any escalation to neighbouring vessels. No further details on casualties or the cause of the fire have been confirmed.
