Christine Graf, 16, is representing Monaco this week at the Tennis Europe Junior Masters held at the Monte-Carlo Country Club.
The Tennis Europe Junior Masters is under way at the Monte-Carlo Country Club in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, running from 21 to 24 October, and among the players on court is 16 year old Christine Graf, who qualified for the girls' U16 draw after a strong season.
Graf, who has Austrian roots but competes under the Monegasque flag, said she felt proud to represent the Principality at one of the most selective events on the junior calendar. Only a small number of players across Europe earn a place in the Masters each year, making her qualification a notable result for Monaco's tennis community.
The tournament draws some of the continent's best young talent to the Monte-Carlo Country Club, a venue more familiar to residents as the home of the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters each spring. For Graf and the Fédération Monégasque de Tennis, the week offers a rare chance to test her game against Europe's top juniors on home clay.
