Sportel Monaco opens at Grimaldi Forum with ESPN, NBA

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

The Grimaldi Forum hosts Sportel Monaco this week, drawing broadcasters including ESPN and sporting bodies such as the NBA for three days of industry meetings.

The Grimaldi Forum has opened its doors to Sportel Monaco, the annual gathering that pulls together broadcasters, sports organisations and technology firms for three days of deal-making and panel discussions. This year's edition, which began on Monday 19 October, has attracted ESPN alongside representatives from the NBA, continuing the event's role as a fixture on the Principality's autumn calendar.

For Monaco, Sportel represents more than a convention centre booking. The event brings a steady flow of international executives through the Grimaldi Forum and into the Principality's hotels and restaurants during a period that sits between the summer season and the festive calendar, giving hospitality businesses in the Larvotto and Monte-Carlo districts a useful midweek boost.

The format remains familiar to those who have followed previous editions: closed-door business meetings, public panel sessions on broadcasting rights and sports technology, and the networking that has made Sportel a reliable draw for the global sports media industry since it first launched in Monaco. With the event running through to Wednesday, delegates will continue moving between sessions at the Forum and meetings arranged across the Principality.
