Roca Team bankruptcy ruling due 6 October

Monaco's commercial court will rule on Tuesday on the future of Roca Team, the reigning French champions, after Friday's insolvency hearing offered little cause for optimism.
The commercial registry of Monaco's tribunal heard arguments on Friday concerning the financial status of Roca Team, with a ruling now set for Tuesday 6 October. Friday's session gave little reason for optimism among those following the case closely.
The club, long a fixture of Monaco's sporting identity alongside AS Monaco football and the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters, has not played competitive basketball since being denied entry into the Betclic Élite by the LNB on financial grounds. The team now faces the prospect of formal insolvency proceedings, which could result in liquidation or receivership.
A decision to place the club into liquidation or receivership would mark a significant blow for an institution that has represented the Principality in European basketball competition for decades. Supporters, players and staff now face an anxious wait until next week, when the court's ruling will determine whether the club can continue to operate.
