Prince Albert and Princess Charlène attend King Harald V funeral in Oslo

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

The Sovereign Prince and Princess Charlène travelled to Oslo to pay their respects at the state funeral of Norway's King Harald V, who died on 28 August.

Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène represented Monaco at the funeral of King Harald V of Norway in Oslo, joining European royal families to mourn a monarch who reigned for more than three decades. Harald V died on 28 August, and the Princely couple's attendance in the Norwegian capital reflected the close ties Monaco maintains with fellow European royal houses.

Back in the Principality, flags flew at half-mast throughout the day as an official mark of respect. The gesture, ordered across Monaco's public buildings and institutions, signalled the depth of the relationship between the two royal families.
