Monte-Carlo Fashion Week trials new autumn edition

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

The inaugural MCFW Rendez-Vous ran for three days in Monaco, concluding on Friday 16 October with talks and presentations on sustainability.

The Chambre Monégasque de la Mode closed its first MCFW Rendez-Vous on Friday 16 October, a three-day programme of fashion presentations, industry panels and private events held across the Principality. The event marks an attempt to split Monte-Carlo Fashion Week into two annual fixtures, one for spring-summer collections and a separate autumn-winter edition such as this one.

Discussions during the three days focused on creativity, innovation and sustainability within the fashion industry, themes that have become central to how the Chambre positions Monaco's fashion calendar alongside larger hubs like Paris and Milan. For residents and visitors with an interest in the sector, the autumn edition signals the Chambre's intention to give Monaco a more consistent presence on the fashion circuit rather than a single annual showcase.

If the twice-yearly format continues, it would give Monaco two fixed points in the fashion calendar each year, adding to an events programme that already includes the Monaco Yacht Show and the Grand Prix in terms of drawing specialist international visitors to the Principality outside the summer season.
