Monaco's first breastfeeding bench set for October launch

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

A sponsor has been secured to manufacture Monaco's first dedicated public breastfeeding bench, with an inauguration expected in October 2026.

A design selected in late June from a Pavillon Bosio student has moved closer to reality after the Entreparents network confirmed a sponsor has agreed to fund the manufacture of Monaco's first public breastfeeding bench. The piece of street furniture, chosen through a design competition earlier this summer, will be the first of its kind installed in the Principality.

The project has been refined since the original design was selected, with improvements made to the prototype ahead of production. An inauguration is hoped for October, though a precise location and date have yet to be confirmed publicly.

For residents and young families in Monaco, the bench represents a practical shift in how public space is designed. The involvement of a Pavillon Bosio student also underlines the Principality's arts school as a contributor to civic life, not just cultural output.
