Monaco targets 5,260 state homes by 2040 under new housing plan

Minister of State Christophe Mirmand has outlined the second national housing plan, committing to 5,260 apartments to meet Monégasque population growth by 2040.
Christophe Mirmand has confirmed that housing will remain the government's absolute top priority, setting out the ambitions of Monaco's second national housing plan in detail. The target is clear: 5,260 state-sector apartments to be delivered in time to absorb projected population growth and meet demand by 2040.
The plan builds on the foundations of the first national housing programme and is designed specifically to serve Monégasque nationals, whose access to affordable, long-term accommodation in the Principality has become an increasingly pressing issue as the resident population continues to expand within Monaco's fixed borders.
Mirmand's intervention appears timed to reassure Monégasque families who have grown anxious about whether supply can realistically keep pace. The government is framing the second plan not as an aspiration but as a firm commitment, with the 5,260-unit figure acting as the benchmark against which progress will be measured over the next fourteen years.
