Monaco replaces digital transition body with new delegation

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

A Sovereign Ordinance published in the Journal de Monaco has created the Délégation Interministérielle au Numérique, replacing the former digital transition unit.

The Prince's Government has reorganised its approach to digital policy, with a Sovereign Ordinance published this week in the Journal de Monaco establishing the Délégation Interministérielle au Numérique (DIN). The new body takes over from the Délégation Interministérielle chargée de la Transition Numérique (DITN), which had overseen digital transition projects across government departments since its creation.

Minister of State Christophe Mirmand said the change reflects how central digital technology has become to the running of the Principality, no longer treated as a transitional project but as a permanent feature of government operations. The restructuring is expected to affect how digital services are coordinated across ministries, from administrative procedures to public-facing platforms used by residents and businesses.

For residents and companies dealing with Monaco's administration, the shift signals a more settled institutional structure for digital governance, potentially streamlining how e-government initiatives are rolled out in the coming years. Details on the DIN's specific mandate, staffing and reporting lines are expected to follow as the new delegation becomes operational.
