Monaco Minister Attends Roma Holocaust Memorial at Auschwitz

Isabelle Berro-Amadeï represented Monaco at the annual commemoration of the Roma and Sinti Holocaust at Auschwitz-Birkenau, reaffirming the Principality's commitment to memory and democratic values.
Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, representing the Principality, attended the commemoration of the Holocaust of Roma and Sinti people at Auschwitz-Birkenau on 2 August 2026, marking the date on which thousands were murdered at the camp in 1944.
In her address, Berro-Amadeï argued that the duty of remembrance extends beyond preserving the memory of victims. She called for constant vigilance against all forms of hatred, racism, antisemitism, antiziganism and discrimination, and warned against the normalisation of exclusion in any form.
She also underlined that memory sits at the foundation of peace and the defence of shared European democratic values, with Monaco reaffirming its engagement on these principles through its presence at one of the most significant commemorative sites in Europe.
