Monaco hosts Council of Europe ambassadors at Oceanographic Museum

Monaco's rotating presidency of the Council of Europe's Committee of Ministers brought member-state ambassadors together at the Oceanographic Museum for a key diplomatic gathering.
The Oceanographic Museum provided the setting on 8 September 2026 for a significant moment in Monaco's presidency of the Council of Europe's Committee of Ministers, as ambassadors from member states convened for a formal meeting that marked one of the presidency's headline events.
Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, opened proceedings in her capacity as President of the Committee of Ministers, before Ambassador Gabriel Revel, Monaco's Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe, took the chair. Berro-Amadeï used her opening address to welcome the resumption of the body's work under the Monegasque presidency.
Monaco assumed the rotating six-month presidency of the Committee of Ministers earlier this year, bringing the Principality to the centre of pan-European diplomatic activity. Hosting the gathering at the Oceanographic Museum, one of the Principality's most recognised institutional venues on Avenue Saint-Martin, underlined Monaco's intention to give the presidency a distinctly Monegasque character throughout its term.
