Monaco advances FATF review with fourth progress report approved

Monaco's national anti-money laundering coordination committee has met to assess progress under the FATF international review process, following approval of the Principality's fourth progress report in June 2026.
The Comité de Coordination et de Suivi, Monaco's national body overseeing the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing, convened in September to take stock of the Principality's position within the FATF International Co-operation Review Group process. The meeting followed a significant milestone: the adoption of Monaco's fourth progress report at FATF's June 2026 plenary assembly.
The review process reflects a structural transformation that has been under way since 2022, during which Monaco has overhauled its national framework for combating financial crime. That overhaul has involved legislative reform, strengthened supervisory capacity and closer coordination between the institutions that share responsibility for AML and counter-terrorism financing compliance.
For residents, property owners and businesses operating in the Principality, continued progress through the FATF review carries practical weight. A favourable outcome reinforces Monaco's standing with international financial counterparts and underpins the regulatory environment that governs banking, real estate transactions and corporate activity here. The coordination committee's ongoing work signals that Monaco intends to exit the ICRG process on its own terms and timeline.
