Quai Antoine Ier show explores Monaco's vanishing cityscape

A new exhibition opening on 1 October 2026 uses photography, large-scale works and audiovisual installations to reflect on how Monaco transforms over time.
From 1 October 2026 to 24 January 2027, the Salle d'exposition on Quai Antoine Ier hosts 'Mémoire des lieux', an exhibition built around a single question: what remains of a place once its buildings have gone and its skyline has shifted?
The show brings together photography, monumental works and audiovisual installations to trace Monaco's continuous reinvention. Rather than celebrating the new, it lingers on what disappears in the process - the textures, rhythms and stories that get built over or swept aside as the Principality evolves.
For residents who have watched whole neighbourhoods change in a generation, or newcomers still piecing together what Monaco looked like before the latest round of development, the exhibition offers a rare pause. The Quai Antoine Ier venue, steps from Port Hercule, is open throughout the winter season.
