New Zealand, Gabon, Jamaica and Greece presented newly accredited ambassadors to Monaco at a diplomatic luncheon in the Hôtel Hermitage.
Four newly accredited ambassadors, representing New Zealand, Gabon, Jamaica and Greece, were received in Monaco on Thursday at a diplomatic luncheon held in the Hôtel Hermitage on the Boulevard de Suisse. The gathering brought together the Principality's diplomatic corps with the incoming envoys for formal introductions and discussion of bilateral ties.
Benjamin Valli, Director of Diplomatic and Consular Relations, led proceedings on behalf of Monaco, using the occasion to raise areas of potential cooperation with each of the four nations. Such luncheons are a regular feature of Monaco's accreditation process, allowing new ambassadors, many of whom are based outside the Principality and cover Monaco alongside other postings, to meet key figures in the government before presenting formal credentials.
For residents and businesses with interests abroad, these diplomatic appointments matter beyond ceremony. Monaco's expanding network of bilateral relationships, now stretching from the Pacific to West Africa and the Caribbean, underpins trade links, consular support for Monegasque nationals travelling or residing overseas, and the Principality's standing within international bodies such as the United Nations.
