Economy minister visits Luxe Pack Monaco at Grimaldi Forum

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

Frédéric Cottalorda toured the Luxe Pack trade fair at the Grimaldi Forum, which has brought global luxury packaging specialists to Monaco since 1988.

Frédéric Cottalorda, Monaco's Minister for Finance and Economy, spent part of his morning at the Grimaldi Forum this week touring Luxe Pack, the trade fair that has become a fixture for the luxury packaging industry since its launch in Monaco in 1988. The event has been held at the Forum since 2000 and draws buyers and suppliers from perfumery houses, jewellers and fashion brands looking at how products are presented and protected before they reach the shelf.

For exhibitors, the fair works as a meeting point for discussing where the sector is heading, from new materials to shifts in consumer demand. That matters for Monaco's economy beyond the Forum's doors, given how closely the Principality's business base is tied to luxury goods, retail and the service firms that support them.

Cottalorda's visit signals the government's continued interest in keeping the fair anchored in Monaco, at a time when trade events of this scale are courted by rival venues across Europe.
