Charlotte Casiraghi turns 40 today, and the milestone comes with a significant professional development: the granddaughter of Prince Rainier III has been entrusted with the editorial direction of a collection at Actes Sud, one of France's most respected independent publishing houses.

The appointment places Casiraghi, who has long been associated with philosophical and literary circles in Paris, in a hands-on creative role from the autumn. Actes Sud, based in Arles and known for its serious literary and essay output, represents a natural fit for someone who co-founded the Rencontres Philosophiques de Monaco and has edited philosophical texts previously.
