AS Monaco to loan young forward Konaté to Laval

Oumar Konaté, given just two late appearances this season under Filipe Luís, will join Ligue 2 side Laval on loan.
Oumar Konaté, one of the young forwards in AS Monaco's squad, is set for a loan move to Stade Lavallois in Ligue 2 before the window closes. The move comes after a quiet start to the season at the Stade Louis II, where the forward has been restricted to two brief appearances off the bench under head coach Filipe Luís.
For Konaté, the switch to Laval offers a chance to build match fitness and first-team experience that has been hard to come by in Monaco's squad this term. Loan spells to Ligue 2 clubs remain a well-trodden path for the club's academy graduates, allowing them to develop away from the pressure of European competition while staying on the radar of the Monaco hierarchy.
