AS Monaco will travel to Poland on 20 August to face Górnik Zabrze in the Conference League play-off, marking new head coach Filipe Luís's competitive debut.
AS Monaco's opening competitive fixture of the 2026-27 season has been confirmed: the club travel to Poland on Thursday 20 August to face Górnik Zabrze, the country's reigning vice-champions, in the Europa Conference League play-off first leg.
The tie carries extra significance as the first test for Brazilian head coach Filipe Luís, who took charge of the club this summer. Górnik Zabrze, a historic Polish club and consistent top-flight challenger, will provide a testing away environment for Monaco's squad in what will be an unfamiliar setting for the new coaching staff.
The return leg at the Stade Louis II will follow in the week after, with a place in the Conference League group stage at stake. For Monaco supporters, the away fixture on 20 August will be the earliest indicator of how Filipe Luís intends to set up his side.
