Xevi Solà brings pool-themed solo show to Opera Gallery

Spanish artist Xevi Solà opens his Monaco debut at Opera Gallery on 18 September, with works exploring isolation and human connection through the swimming pool.
Thoughts of a Bigger Splash, the first Monaco solo exhibition by Barcelona-based artist Xevi Solà, opens at Opera Gallery on Avenue de Grande-Bretagne this Thursday and runs until 15 October.
The show takes the swimming pool as its central subject, using it as a stage for examining human relationships, solitude and moments caught between action and stillness. The title nods knowingly to David Hockney's celebrated 1967 canvas, though Solà's approach is distinctly his own, built around a body of work that has drawn attention across Spain and France in recent years.
Opera Gallery Monaco has established itself as one of the Principality's more active commercial gallery spaces, regularly bringing international contemporary artists to a local audience.
