Roca Team files appeal to compete in Nationale 1

Monaco's champion basketball club has lodged a formal appeal with the CNOSF after a licensing dispute threatened its place in Nationale 1 this season.
The Roca Team, Monaco's professional basketball club and reigning French champions, has filed an appeal with the Comité National Olympique et Sportif Français (CNOSF) after facing a challenge to its participation in Nationale 1 for the 2026-27 season. The dispute centred on a missing financial certification from the club's statutory auditor, a document required as part of the league's licensing process.
The club had already resolved the underlying financial concerns raised during the review, but the absence of the auditor's formal sign-off left its registration in jeopardy. That certification was obtained on Monday, strengthening the Roca Team's position ahead of the CNOSF hearing.
The outcome will be closely watched across the Principality. The Roca Team plays its home games at the Salle Gaston Médecin and has become one of the most competitive clubs in French basketball, making any threat to its top-flight status a matter of genuine public concern for Monaco sports followers.
