Valère Germain in talks over AS Monaco ambassador role

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

Former striker Valère Germain, who retired in January, has held discussions with AS Monaco executives about becoming a club ambassador.

Valère Germain, who hung up his boots in January after a career that included two spells at AS Monaco, is in discussions with the club about taking on an ambassadorial role. The forward, who came through the youth ranks at La Turbie before returning to the Stade Louis II in later years, remains closely associated with the club among supporters in the Principality.

Talks with club executives are understood to be ongoing, with no formal announcement yet made on the scope or timing of any appointment. Ambassador roles at AS Monaco typically involve representing the club at official functions, supporting youth development initiatives, and acting as a link between the current squad and its history.

Germain's playing career spanned spells at Nice and Marseille alongside his two stints in red and white, making him a familiar figure to football fans across the French Riviera. Should the role be confirmed, it would mark a formal return to the club for a player regarded as part of its recent history.
