Three pupils from Lycée Albert Ier have been selected to represent Monaco at a Council of Europe conference on young people and disinformation, taking place in Strasbourg next month. The trio shared their preparation with classmates during a session at the school on Thursday, October 8, organised by the Prince's Government as part of Monaco's current presidency of the Council of Europe's Committee of Ministers.
The Strasbourg gathering will bring together young delegates from across member states to discuss how to identify and counter false information online, a theme the Principality has placed at the centre of its presidency agenda. For the Lycée Albert Ier students, the trip offers a direct role in shaping policy discussions usually reserved for diplomats and ministers.
The initiative reflects a broader push by the government to involve Monegasque youth in the Council of Europe's work during the Principality's term at the helm, with education officials hoping the experience will feed back into classroom discussions on media literacy once the students return.
