Taxi Monaco app marks first year with 36,000 downloads

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

The Taxi Monaco app has completed its first year with more than 21,000 trips logged and downloads registered across 154 countries.

A year after its launch, the Taxi Monaco app has established itself as a practical fixture of daily transport in the Principality. In twelve months, the platform has recorded over 21,000 completed trips, more than 7,000 individual passengers carried, and upwards of 36,000 downloads spanning 154 countries.

The figures point to meaningful adoption rather than novelty. By 2026, more than 10 per cent of all taxi journeys in Monaco are now booked through the app, rising to 15 per cent of trips made by private clients. Usage skews heavily towards Apple devices, with iPhone accounting for 89 per cent of sessions against 11 per cent on Android. Integrated in-app payment, available from day one, has also gained traction among users.

For residents and frequent visitors, the numbers signal a genuine shift in how Monaco's taxi fleet operates. The app brings a degree of transparency and convenience that hailed street cabs cannot match, and the international download footprint suggests tourists are arriving in the Principality already prepared to use it.
