London-founded gallery TAEX has opened a permanent space in Le Renzo, the Renzo Piano building in Mareterra, launching with an exhibition by Kevin Abosch.
TAEX, a digital art gallery founded in London, has opened its first permanent location in Mareterra, taking space inside Le Renzo, the waterfront building designed by architect Renzo Piano. The gallery launches with Testing Ground, an exhibition by conceptual artist Kevin Abosch, marking one of the first cultural tenants to move into the newly completed district.
The arrival adds to a growing cluster of galleries and cultural spaces appearing around Monaco's harbour and the new Mareterra extension, as developers and institutions look to establish the area as more than a residential and retail address. For residents and property owners in the district, the opening signals how Mareterra's public-facing spaces are beginning to take shape beyond the apartments and gardens that have dominated coverage of the extension so far.
TAEX has not disclosed how long the Abosch exhibition will run, but the gallery's presence in Le Renzo positions it alongside the building's other ground-floor spaces that have been slowly filling since Mareterra opened to the public earlier this year.
