Soubeir ankle sprain not serious after Strasbourg exit

AS Monaco youngster Anis Soubeir has been confirmed with a sprained ankle after leaving the pitch in the 22nd minute of Saturday's 1-1 draw at Strasbourg.
Anis Soubeir's first start of the 2026-27 Ligue 1 season ended prematurely on Saturday when the young Monégasque was forced off at Stade de la Meinau after just 22 minutes with an ankle problem. Monaco drew 1-1 with Strasbourg in the fourth round of fixtures, a result that will have done little to lift the mood around a squad already managing an injury concern.
The news on Soubeir is, however, more positive than initially feared. The club has confirmed the injury is a sprain rather than anything structural, meaning the winger should return to training relatively quickly. His fitness will be monitored ahead of Monaco's next fixture, with supporters hopeful the setback does not derail what was shaping up to be a breakthrough campaign for the local talent.
