SBM's 2027 twin projects: Monte-Carlo Bay extension and Thermes Marins rebuild

SBM will add three storeys to Monte-Carlo Bay and completely rebuild Thermes Marins as part of its 2027 development roadmap under président délégué Stéphane Valeri.
The Société des Bains de Mer has confirmed two significant construction projects will commence in 2027, both central to the property development strategy set out by président délégué Stéphane Valeri. The Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort on the Larvotto seafront will receive a three-storey extension, increasing the property's capacity without expanding its footprint. Meanwhile, Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo will undergo a complete rebuild and reconfiguration into what SBM is calling 'thermes-terrasses', a terraced wellness complex with enhanced harbour views.
The rebuild of Thermes Marins represents a more comprehensive transformation than previous renovation plans, involving demolition of the existing ageing structure rather than a standard refurbishment. This ambitious reconfiguration reflects SBM's commitment to modernising the complex's facilities and guest experience.
Both schemes sit within a longer-term roadmap that SBM expects to carry through the next decade, reflecting the group's continued investment in its flagship hospitality assets rather than pursuing new-build developments. The projects underscore Monaco's ongoing appeal as a premier destination for luxury hospitality upgrades.
