Royal Family joins 800 Monégasques at U Cavagnëtu picnic

Prince Albert II, Princess Charlène and their children joined more than 800 Monégasques at Parc Princesse Antoinette on Saturday for the traditional annual picnic, U Cavagnëtu.
Parc Princesse Antoinette welcomed the full Sovereign Family on Saturday 19 September for U Cavagnëtu, the end-of-summer gathering that brings together Monégasque nationals each year. Prince Albert II, Princess Charlène, Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella attended alongside Leticia de Massy and other members of the Princely Family.
The event drew more than 800 residents to the park in the La Rousse district, one of the largest green spaces in the Principality. Mayor Georges Mars was among those greeting the family on their arrival, reflecting the occasion's status as one of the calendar's most community-facing royal engagements.
U Cavagnëtu - the name drawn from the Monégasque dialect word for a small basket - has long served as a marker of the transition from summer to autumn for the national community. For those who live in the Principality, it remains one of the few moments in the year when residents and the Sovereign Family share the same informal setting.
