The timing could scarcely be worse: the club is due before the CNOSF on Thursday in a hearing that will determine whether it retains its place in Pro A for the coming season.
With Mashburn's backing now in serious doubt, club officials are working to activate a Plan B centred on an investment fund whose shareholders include Ronaldinho, the former Ballon d'Or winner. Negotiations are understood to be at an advanced stage, though whether a deal can be structured and presented to the CNOSF in time remains far from certain.
