The Princess Grace Academy opened its new season on Monday evening with an hour-long presentation at the Ballets de Monte-Carlo studio, giving families and supporters their first look at how this year's cohort of young dancers has progressed since the summer break.
The performance brought together pupils across different age groups and training levels, a format the Academy uses each autumn to mark the start of the academic year rather than to showcase a finished production. For parents and the wider Monaco dance community, these early-season showings are as much about tracking technical development as they are about public performance.
The Academy, founded in the 1970s and now one of the Principality's most established cultural institutions, continues to feed talent into Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo and international companies. Monday's show is typically the first of several public presentations through the season, with a more substantial production expected as the year progresses.
