The Fondation Prince Pierre de Monaco has named this year's winners across literature, music and philosophy, with Daniel Pennac receiving the main literary prize.
The Fondation Prince Pierre de Monaco has proclaimed its annual prizes, recognising achievement across literature, contemporary music and philosophy. Daniel Pennac has been awarded the Literary Prize for his body of work, one of the foundation's most prestigious distinctions and a recognition reserved for established writers with a significant body of published work.
In the Bourse de la Découverte category, which supports emerging voices, Moroccan author Soundouss Chraïbi was honoured for her debut novel Le soleil se lève deux fois, published by Gallimard. The Coup de Cœur des Lycéens, voted on by secondary school students, went to Camille Leyvraz for her first novel Rouille, published by La Veilleuse, giving younger readers a direct say in the foundation's cultural choices.
The music prizes, including the Tremplin Musical award for emerging composers, were also announced at the ceremony, continuing the foundation's decades-long support for contemporary musical talent. Founded in memory of Prince Pierre, father of Prince Rainier III, the foundation remains one of the Principality's principal patrons of literature and the arts, with its annual prizes closely watched in Francophone literary circles.
