Prince Albert visits hybrid yacht Dagger at Monaco Yacht Show

Prince Albert II toured the 67-metre Benetti hybrid yacht Dagger on Thursday as it became the latest vessel certified under the SEA Index environmental programme.
Prince Albert II stepped aboard M/Y Dagger on Thursday at the Monaco Yacht Show, marking the moment the 67-metre Benetti superyacht formally joined the fleet certified under the SEA Index, the environmental rating scheme launched in the Principality to track and reduce carbon emissions from large yachts. The visit took place at the Port Hercule showground, where Dagger was among the standout launches on display this week.
Built as a B.Now 67M, Dagger uses hybrid propulsion technology, part of a broader shift among major shipyards to offer lower-emission options to owners increasingly conscious of their vessels' environmental footprint. The SEA Index, developed with input from Monaco-based environmental and yachting bodies, gives brokers, charter clients and owners a comparable emissions rating across yacht classes, similar in spirit to energy labels used in other industries.
For Monaco, where the yacht show remains one of the calendar's most closely watched events for the maritime and hospitality sectors, the certification adds weight to the Principality's positioning as a hub for sustainable yachting innovation. Prince Albert II has long championed environmental initiatives through his foundation, and his presence at the Dagger unveiling reinforces the government's push to align the yachting industry, a significant contributor to the local economy, with its wider environmental commitments.
