Prince Albert II visits Nice charity work at L'Archet II

Prince Albert II toured Hôpital L'Archet II in Nice to see fifteen years of work by Monaco Liver Disorder improving care for young patients and their families.

Prince Albert II travelled to Nice this week to visit Hôpital L'Archet II, where the Monegasque association Monaco Liver Disorder has spent the past fifteen years supporting children treated for liver conditions and their families. The Sovereign toured the paediatric wards and met medical staff and association volunteers who have helped fund improvements to patient accommodation and family support services at the hospital.

Monaco Liver Disorder was founded to assist families facing long hospital stays, often far from home, during treatment for serious liver conditions in children. Over the visit, representatives detailed how donations have gone towards furnishing family rooms, funding specialist equipment and easing the financial and emotional strain on parents accompanying sick children through extended care.

The visit underlines the close medical ties between Monaco and the Côte d'Azur, with many Monegasque residents relying on Nice's hospitals for specialist paediatric treatment not available in the Principality. For Monaco families who may one day need L'Archet II's services, the association's work offers a tangible link between the Principality and the care their children might receive across the border.
