Council of Europe sports ministers to meet at Grimaldi Forum

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

European ministers responsible for sport will gather at the Grimaldi Forum on 4 November for a Council of Europe conference attended by Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène.

On Wednesday 4 November 2026, the Grimaldi Forum will host a Council of Europe conference bringing together ministers responsible for sport from across the continent. Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène will take part in proceedings, lending royal weight to a gathering that places Monaco at the centre of European sports policy discussions for the day.

The conference forms part of the Council of Europe's ongoing work on sport governance, a field in which Prince Albert has long been engaged through his role on the International Olympic Committee. For residents, the event underscores Monaco's continuing role as a venue for international institutional meetings, drawing ministerial delegations and their support staff to the Principality outside the usual calendar of sporting fixtures.

Alongside the closed ministerial sessions, an exhibition linked to the conference will be open to the public at the Grimaldi Forum, giving residents and visitors a chance to engage with the themes under discussion. Details on exhibition opening hours have not yet been confirmed.
