Prince Albert II applauds Mercier-Arnault recital at Garnier

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

Hélène Mercier-Arnault performed a piano recital at the Salle Garnier to mark the anniversary of Mission Enfance, the charity for which Prince Albert II serves as honorary president.

The Salle Garnier hosted a piano recital this week by Hélène Mercier-Arnault, wife of LVMH chairman Bernard Arnault, as part of celebrations marking the anniversary of Mission Enfance. Prince Albert II attended the performance and applauded the pianist at the close of the evening, lending his presence to an organisation for which he holds the honorary presidency.

Mission Enfance works internationally to support children in situations of distress, and the Monaco gala brought together supporters of the charity inside one of the Principality's most recognisable cultural venues. The choice of the Salle Garnier, attached to the Opera de Monte-Carlo, underlines the weight given to the occasion by organisers and by the Palace.

For residents who follow the Principality's charity calendar, the evening is a reminder of how closely Monaco's cultural institutions and its philanthropic circuit are intertwined, with royal patronage often the thread that connects high-profile guests to causes operating far beyond the Principality's borders.
