Palace's New Wing II work wins silver environmental label

The reconstruction of the Prince's Palace's West Wing has received the BD2M silver certification for its environmental performance and use of biosourced materials.
The Nouvelle Aile II project, rebuilding sections of the West Wing of the Prince's Palace for private use by the princely family, has been awarded the BD2M silver label. The certification recognises the environmental quality of the construction process and the choice of biosourced materials used throughout the works.
The West Wing sits within the historic Rocher district, where any building works face strict heritage and conservation constraints given the Palace's status. Securing an environmental label for a project of this sensitivity signals that sustainable construction methods can be applied even within Monaco's most protected sites.
For residents of the Rocher and those following the Palace's ongoing renovation programme, the certification offers a concrete marker of progress on a project that has been underway for several years. It also adds to a growing list of Monaco developments, both public and private, seeking recognised environmental credentials as the Principality pushes its wider sustainability commitments.
