Monaco's fire service welcomed nine recruits in a formal helmet ceremony on 30 June, presided over by Interior Minister Lionel Beffre.
Nine new firefighters were formally inducted into the Corps des Sapeurs-Pompiers de Monaco on 30 June in a helmet presentation ceremony held under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel Maxime Yvrard, Chef de Corps. Interior Minister Lionel Beffre attended alongside Colonel Tony Varo, Commandant Supérieur de la Force Publique, and Lieutenant-Colonel Martial Pied, Chef de Corps des Carabiniers du Prince. Abbé Dominique Arz blessed the helmets as part of the traditional rite.
The nine recruits, all brought on in 2026, form a new named promotion within the corps - a long-standing custom that gives each intake a collective identity and marks their formal entry into Monaco's public safety service. The Corps des Sapeurs-Pompiers is responsible for fire response, medical emergencies and civil protection across the Principality.
