Nepal's consul launches 'We Stand With Nepal' appeal

Alexander Moghadam, Nepal's Honorary Consul General in Monaco, has launched a fundraising appeal called "We Stand With Nepal" to support relief efforts following the devastating floods that struck the country on 26 August. The disaster claimed at least 1,400 lives, with authorities searching for around 6,000 people reported missing.
Every euro raised through the appeal goes directly to the Red Cross for Nepal. At 90 years old, Moghadam continues to champion the relief efforts, calling on the Monaco community to contribute funds towards temporary housing and food supplies for survivors in the affected regions.
The appeal reflects the enduring ties between the Principality and Nepal, maintained through the honorary consulate based in Monaco. Moghadam has stressed that immediate needs remain acute, with many families displaced and basic infrastructure destroyed in the areas hit hardest by the flooding.
