Monte Carlo Capital raises €13m for second tech fund

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

Monte Carlo Capital has secured €13 million in first-round funding for its second venture fund, targeting AI, deep tech and space startups.

Monte Carlo Capital, the venture capital firm based in the Principality, has closed the first round of its second investment fund at €13 million, with a target of €26 million once fundraising completes. The fund will back early-stage companies working in artificial intelligence, advanced technology and the space sector, areas the firm sees as central to the next wave of European innovation.

The milestone follows the firm's first fund, which closed at more than €11 million in 2025. That earlier vehicle gave Monte Carlo Capital a track record in sourcing and backing technology ventures from its Monaco base, and the larger scale of Fund II signals growing investor appetite for exposure to the sector through a Monaco-domiciled structure.

For Monaco's wider business community, the news reinforces the Principality's position as a base for specialist investment vehicles beyond its traditional wealth management and family office activity. A successful close of Fund II would add to the small but growing cluster of Monaco-based funds focused on technology and venture investing, rather than the more familiar real estate or luxury asset strategies associated with the jurisdiction.
