Leclerc claims second in Singapore, first podium since Belgium

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

Charles Leclerc finished second in the Singapore Grand Prix on Sunday, marking his first podium since the Belgian Grand Prix.

Charles Leclerc crossed the line in second place at the Singapore Grand Prix on Sunday night, ending a run without a podium that stretched back to the Belgian Grand Prix. The result at Marina Bay gives Ferrari a welcome boost after a difficult stretch of the season, with the Monegasque driver showing renewed form under the floodlights of the street circuit.

Max Verstappen took victory for Red Bull, his first win at the Marina Bay circuit and a result that came on his 250th Grand Prix start. The Dutchman controlled the race from the front, leaving Leclerc to fight for the remaining places on the podium.

For Monaco residents who follow Leclerc closely, the result will be read as a sign that Ferrari's car may finally be finding the pace to challenge consistently again. Leclerc, who grew up in Monaco and still calls the Principality home, remains the local favourite heading into the final rounds of the season, with fans here hoping the Singapore podium marks a turning point rather than a one-off.
