Monaco's last haberdashery moves to Carré d'Or after finding no buyer

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

De fil en aiguille, Monaco's long-standing haberdashery, is relocating to the Carré d'Or in July after owner Giovanni Di Salvia failed to find a buyer for the business.

Giovanni Di Salvia has spent months trying to sell De fil en aiguille, the haberdashery he runs in Monaco, without success. Rather than close the doors, he has decided to keep trading and will move the shop to the Carré d'Or district from July.

The relocation buys time while Di Salvia continues his search for someone to take on the business. For residents who rely on the shop for sewing supplies, alterations materials and notions, the move means the service survives at least through the near term, albeit at a new address in one of the Principality's most central shopping areas.
