Stars'N'Bars returns to Quai Antoine Ier as Stars of Monaco

Three years after closing, the legendary quayside venue reopens under a new name with Didier Rubiolo back in charge and a back-to-basics menu.
Stars'N'Bars, the quayside institution on Quai Antoine Ier that defined a certain era of Monaco nightlife and casual dining, is returning. The new venture, renamed Stars of Monaco, marks the end of a three-year absence that left a conspicuous gap in the Port Hercule social scene.
Didier Rubiolo, who ran the original Stars'N'Bars, is leading the comeback. His stated intent is a deliberate step back from the sprawling, event-driven format the venue had evolved into: the focus this time is burgers and a convivial atmosphere, closer in spirit to the bar's early years than its later incarnation.
For residents and regulars who mourned the closure, the return will carry both nostalgia and curiosity. Whether Stars of Monaco can recapture the relaxed, unpretentious energy that originally set it apart from Monaco's more formal dining options remains to be seen - but the address and the name behind it give it a credible starting point.
