Monaco schools post strong baccalauréat results for 2026

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

Lycée Albert Ier and Lycée François d'Assise recorded a 97.4% pass rate in this year's general baccalauréat, with more than 324 distinctions awarded across all streams.

This year's baccalauréat results confirm another strong performance from Monaco's secondary schools. Across the general stream, 97.4% of candidates at Lycée Albert Ier and Lycée François d'Assise-Nicolas Barré passed, with 80.7% earning a mention, producing 248 distinctions in total. Of those, 47 students achieved the top grade of "Très Bien", five of whom also received the jury's congratulations.

The remaining distinctions broke down as 112 "Bien" and 89 "Assez Bien". Across all streams combined, the Principality recorded more than 324 mentions, including 53 at "Très Bien" level. For families with children in the Monaco school system, the figures reinforce the case that the support and academic preparation offered at both lycées continues to produce results well above national averages.
