The Sûreté Publique has joined Facebook and Instagram to inform residents and explain its work through modern communication channels.
The Sûreté Publique has set up official accounts on Facebook and Instagram, marking the force's first sustained presence on Meta's platforms. The move brings Monaco's police communications in line with practices already common among neighbouring French forces and other European police services.
Officers say the accounts will be used to inform the public, raise awareness on safety issues and give residents a closer look at day-to-day policing in the Principality. Content is expected to cover prevention campaigns, operational updates and behind-the-scenes material showing how different units work, from traffic patrols to specialist teams.
For residents and property owners, the shift offers a more direct line to the force behind Monaco's tightly managed security environment, long one of the selling points for those living or investing here. It also reflects a broader trend across Monegasque institutions to engage the public through channels people already use daily, rather than relying solely on press releases or the force's existing website.
