Monaco name Minamino, Fati and Camara to start at Lorient

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

Filipe Luis fields Takumi Minamino and Ansu Fati again as Monaco travel to Lorient aiming to hold onto top spot in Ligue 1.

AS Monaco head to the Stade du Moustoir this Sunday at 17h15 looking to protect their position at the top of Ligue 1 as the seventh round of the season gets underway. A win against Lorient would consolidate the Rouge et Blanc's early-season form, though the Breton side are never an easy visit for title contenders.

Coach Filipe Luis has opted for continuity in attack, handing fresh starts to Takumi Minamino and Ansu Fati, both of whom also began Thursday's Conference League fixture against Lokomotiv Sofia. The decision suggests confidence in the pair's fitness and sharpness despite the quick turnaround between European and domestic commitments.

Midfielder Lamine Camara also returns to the starting eleven, having been withdrawn at half time in Bulgaria after picking up a knock. His inclusion will be watched closely by supporters at the Stade Louis II and those following from home, given his importance to Monaco's midfield balance this season.
