Monaco minister addresses Council of Europe gender equality summit

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

Isabelle Berro-Amadeï represented Monaco at the Council of Europe's annual gender equality conference, a flagship event of the Principality's presidency of the Committee of Ministers.

Government Councillor and Minister Isabelle Berro-Amadeï attended the annual conference of the Council of Europe's Gender Equality Commission on 11 June 2026, one of the centrepiece events of Monaco's current presidency of the Committee of Ministers.

The conference falls within the thematic priority Monaco has set for its presidency: the protection of women. Berro-Amadeï used the occasion to address the Committee of Ministers in its Human Rights formation, reaffirming Monaco's commitment to the enforcement of judgments handed down by the European Court of Human Rights.

Monaco's presidency of the Committee of Ministers carries real weight in shaping the Council of Europe's legislative and human rights agenda. By placing women's protection at the heart of that agenda, the Principality is staking out a clear position on one of the institution's most contested policy areas.
