The measures include adjusted working hours, allowing teams to begin and finish earlier in the day to avoid peak afternoon heat, alongside reinforced supervision to monitor conditions on the ground.
The move reflects a broader shift in how Monaco's municipal administration manages seasonal risk for its workforce. Services most affected are understood to include those responsible for street maintenance, green spaces and waste collection, where exposure to direct sun is unavoidable. The adjustments will remain in force for the duration of the high-heat period.
For residents, the practical impact is minimal, with services continuing to operate on amended but still reliable schedules. The Mairie has not indicated any disruption to collections or maintenance rounds as a result of the changes.
