Monaco Basket Association targets top women's division this season

The Monaco Basket Association has restructured its professional women's setup with new staff, fresh partners and an U18 programme as it bids for elite-division promotion.
The Monaco Basket Association is pushing to reach the top flight of French women's basketball sooner than expected, with club presidents setting their sights on promotion as early as this season rather than waiting the two years originally planned.
To back that ambition, the club has expanded its internal structure, bringing in additional staff across its management and coaching teams, and has secured new commercial partnerships to fund the project. Development work with the U18 squad is also under way, signalling a longer-term commitment to building from within rather than relying solely on senior recruitment.
Salle Gaston-Médecin, the Fontvieille arena that already hosts Roca Team's Betclic Elite matches, is central to the plan. The club's presidents have made clear they intend to play there on a sustained basis, giving the women's programme a permanent home rather than a temporary one as they pursue top-division status.
