The Fédération Monégasque d'Athlétisme has earned ISO 20121:2024 certification for the Meeting Herculis and Monaco Run, recognising three years of work to embed environmental and social responsibility.
The Fédération Monégasque d'Athlétisme has been awarded ISO 20121:2024 certification for two of its flagship sporting events: the Meeting Herculis and the Monaco Run. Awarded by Bureau Veritas, the international standard recognises how events are managed across environmental, social and economic criteria, from waste management to supplier practices and community impact.
Federation staff spent three years preparing for the certification, adjusting how events are planned and delivered to meet the standard's requirements. The process involved a comprehensive review of logistics, stakeholder engagement and operational practices, with a focus on reducing the environmental footprint of large-scale gatherings in the Principality.
For residents and visitors attending these events, the certification signals a meaningful shift toward greater accountability and sustainable event management. The recognition reflects Monaco's broader commitment to responsible sporting infrastructure and sets a benchmark for other major gatherings across the region.
