Massenet's opera Roma revived by OPMC in Monaco and Paris

More than a century after it was first created in Monaco, Jules Massenet's five-act opera Roma has returned to the stage under the baton of the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra. The OPMC presented the work at the Auditorium Rainier III before travelling to the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, where it was performed alongside Radio France forces.
Roma is one of Massenet's lesser known works, rarely revived since its early performances, which makes this staging notable for followers of the Principality's classical music scene. The Auditorium Rainier III, home to the OPMC's regular season, continues to serve as a launchpad for productions that then find wider audiences beyond Monaco.
