Free bus travel extended to major Monaco events throughout 2026
Following a successful 2025 trial, bus services will remain free during Monaco's biggest events to encourage public transport use during peak periods.
Free bus travel during Monaco's premier sporting events will continue into 2026, building on the positive results of this year's pilot programme. The initiative aims to encourage residents and visitors to choose public transport during periods when traffic restrictions are at their heaviest.
The complimentary service will cover five major events next year. Tennis fans can take advantage during the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters from Monday 6 April to Friday 10 April. Classic car enthusiasts will benefit during the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique weekend from Friday 24 to Sunday 26 April.
Formula 1 followers will enjoy free bus travel during the Monaco E-Prix on 16-17 May, whilst the pinnacle event, the Formula 1 Louis Vuitton Grand Prix, will also be included in the programme. These measures reflect the Principality's commitment to managing traffic flow whilst maintaining accessibility during its most popular international events.
The decision to extend the free transport offer demonstrates the authorities' confidence in public transport as a viable solution for managing the increased visitor numbers that these world-class events attract to Monaco.
